Thanks Brian - it's one big reason why when anyone asks an on-topic question on the group, I always reply on the group - even if they've asked for offlist replies - even if you think you're the only one wondering that - chances are you aren't.  I saw a statistic once, no idea how accurate it was, which said for every question asked on a group (usenet group it may have been at the time) - ten other people had the same question but either didn't feel comfortable asking or simply didn't bother - whatever the figure is, it's probably at least 1.

The following is said with absolutely no snark intended:  This is a great insight on your part.

I only wish that more IT-related folks would recognize that almost any single question, about anything, means that there were at least a few more people up through legions more, who had the same question but were afraid to ask or got otherwise distracted.
