Brian I realize there is a difference in these factors.  However, it is only an assumption, but is it not possible that is what is being done here.  I only took a guess in this programming factor, to try an explain  a possibility here.  Neither you or I know, but if they are using a one time password, what other way is there to explain this to someone that doesn't have a programming or strong computer understanding?  Sorry, if I broke the thought factor here, but that is what looks like is happening on her part in these programs.

You are correct about this.

Gene is correct that this is not what's being discussed in regard to application specific passwords.

These two things have only one thing in common - they're passwords.  Their use cases and durations of applicability are entirely different.
