I do plenty of research before asking on-list. I usually am able to find the answer, sometimes just by going through the list archives. Therefore, I don't usually need to ask very many questions.

I do agree that we should try to research to find the answer to our problems but still ask for help. Rember that alot of email list are for certain topics so asking is not wrong. I think

What does NVDA say when you type ñ?
Press tilde (shift and `, the key to the left of 1), then n.
