When you do the "Save as" and choose PDF, an Options button should then appear in the Save as dialog. If you activate that button, one of the checkboxes among the options in the PDF Options section

Actually I use ppt slides during lectures, which I intend to provide
to my students after converting them to pdf and password protecting
them. I convert the ppt to pdf

There is too much we don't know. When you set up your account, do you know whether it was successful? Do you see your account in the tree view?

When I try to look for the trash folder in thunderbird, all I get is toolbar and table. I can't see my folders except the inbox. What could I be doing wrong?

Yes, you can add password protection to a PDF in Adobe Reader, but I'm not quite sure why you'd do this as you cannot actually create a PDF in Adobe Reader. You would have to be opening an
