It really depends on what they call a shared network. I don't know if this is common abroad, but many ISPs give you a discount if you allow part of your network to look like a hot spot as well. I

I would second this. In 2015, I had my first desktop with a 256gig ssd. It was one of those that looks like a giant chip that plugged into the motherboard.

I would not worry at all, just do what you do, keep the windows firewall on, and that's about it, no need to do anything extra.
