Using the latest firefox update and nvda on a windows 10 1809 system.
When I launch firefox from the run dialogue let's say firefox http://restream.io or firefox http://google.com I get nvda saying firefox unknown but the window never appears, yet when I start a new tab and go to restream.io or google.com the web page loads. Similarly, when I go to my flight program and load an html of my briefing it loads in html into my default browser which is firefox. This worked until the last update of firefox. I get nvda saying "firefox unknown" then nothing. It is not loaded in my alt tab order, nor is it even in the control tab order in my firefox. Is anyone else facing this issue? I did try a relaunch of firefox with no joy. I could not at the time reboot the system but this was from a cold start.
Take care

Sarah, My gut is telling me that, somehow, the path to the Firefox executable has somehow been removed from your %PATH% environment variable, but was there before. I get exactly the same error in command prompt if I try to start Firefox from the command line. Firefox resides in the folder C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox. See this write-up I did: An Introduction to the PATH Environment Variable Under Windows Command Prompt You're probably going to need to update your default PATH variable so that the above noted folder/directory becomes a permanent part of it if you want to be able to type firefox and URLs to pass to it on the command line without having to prefix firefox with its actual folder of residence. --

I type this from the run dialogue actually. But will this fix my issue with my flight software as well? As it can't open my briefing and I have to do this myself. I have no clue why this broke when I updated but you never know and I didn't do it. Lol!

The run dialog uses %PATH% to search through for the program name specified, and if it can't find it you will get the message you got. It looks like you'll need to add both the path to Firefox and the path to your flight software to the PATH system environment variable if you wish to be able to type each "naked" in the run dialog. Otherwise you will be required to enter the full path to each. --

The flight software works good but when it comes time to open the briefing or do anythign else it does not want to work. Not just my flight software but everythigelse can't seem to access firefox. I'll take a look when I'm next on windows which might not be until tomorrow when I'm off of work. I thnk if I modify the path once it whoudl work when any software wants to open firefox.
Take care
