NVDA & Java AccessBridge - Possible Influence on Crucial Storage Executive
I had this issue before, and I thought it had been resolved, but it's back again. Many Crucial SSDs are managed via Crucial Storage Executive. I installed the latest version, 7.12, last night and the only thing you get when you run it is the splash screen and the content below in its log file.
I seem to recall a recent discussion on the main group where it was mentioned that NVDA has the Java Access Bridge bundled with it and installs it along with NVDA itself. If that's so, is it using a non-standard location? If anyone has any ideas about what I might do to resolve this issue, please offer those suggestions. This is not a critical thing, but it is the one and only time I have ever encountered an SSD utility that fails to load because of Java Access Bridge. Hello: The JAVA software for 64/32 bit must be installed separately. You should install both versions of JAVA as some software run on 32bit and other software run on 64bit. All NVDA does look for JAVA installed software on your PC, and then activates it. I hope this info helps.

Carlos,
I do not have Java installed and am not going to install it. What's really weird is that Crucial Storage Executive installs the following three files in its own folder hierarchy: C:\Program Files\Crucial\Crucial Storage Executive\java\bin\JavaAccessBridge-64.dll C:\Program Files\Crucial\Crucial Storage Executive\java\bin\JAWTAccessBridge-64.dll C:\Program Files\Crucial\Crucial Storage Executive\java\bin\WindowsAccessBridge-64.dll while what NVDA installs is a single file: C:\Program Files (x86)\NVDA\lib\2022.1\windowsaccessbridge-32.dll I haven't had Java active on this machine in a number of years because I just don't use it or other things that require it. Your suggestion is appreciated whether I go that route or not. -- Brian - Windows 10, 64-Bit, Version 21H2, Build 19044 The psychology of adultery has been falsified by conventional morals, which assume, in monogamous countries, that attraction to one person cannot co-exist with a serious affection for another. So the real question is not about nvda, but about the extra files that the software you are installing has put in, then.At the point where these files exist, I feel that nvda then tries to make sure it can use them.

I'm sure I've seen this behaviour before, some time ago, maybe when they integrated java into one of the free office suites? Brian -- bglists@... As it turns out, another tech found a different product that was having the same issue, and the solution they used works for Crucial Storage Executive as well:
