Easy way to get an audio file from text file

Hi, I find the voice in Edge is wonderful for reading stuff, but recently I have a need to get the same good quality in a hurry in a file. The read aloud offers no way to do this and is often quirky as to when it stops in a file. I remember an old program called Dspeech, which seems to do it with Sappi 5 voices, but only really seems to work with some very fiddled with files and then only with a subset of voices like Serena and Daniel, and does not sound realistic like the voice in edge, though it can make a file faster.
Is there anything else out there that I should try, does not have to be free, as long as I don't need to mortgage the house to get it!

The psychology of adultery has been falsified by conventional morals, which assume, in monogamous countries, that attraction to one person cannot co-exist with a serious affection for another.  Everybody knows that this is untrue. . .

Yes, I I know, but unless been updated it sounds a bit stilted and because it relies on Microsoft implementation it is tripped up by expanding American abbreviations, when in the UK they are not appropriate.
I'll have to hunt it down and see if it has been developed.
