For those considering the Brave browser . . .
What follows is not meant to discourage you in any way, but I do think it's important to know.
Brave applies some pretty stringent security and blocking algorithms behind the scenes. In the vast majority of cases this is a huge advantage and the end user has no issue with various websites and using them. However, I have observed that certain, and I do mean certain, banking websites and credit card websites do not "play well" with Brave and the usual indication of this is you end up in a "login loop" as I call it where you just can't seem to log in to the site and it keeps asking for your username and password. If/when you encounter such using Brave, the only solution I've ever found is using a different web browser for those specific sites. My partner's bank, which is a local bank, has a website that simply will not work under Brave. Knowing this in advance can save a lot of frustration and if/when it happens you'll know that you need to use a different browser rather than bashing your head against the wall trying to figure out what's wrong. Nothing's wrong that you did and nothing's wrong that you can fix. -- Brian - Windows 10, 64-Bit, Version 21H2, Build 19044 Nothing in all the world is more dangerous than sincere ignorance and conscientious stupidity. ~ Martin Luther King, Jr. |

hello; I think I remember this scenario from somewhere. have you changed your cookie blocking settings recently? once i've changed that setting to block all cookies, I wasn't
unable to login to websites just like you. and I changed that
setting to block Cross site cookies only and it solved. go to menu/settings/shields, you'll see 2 options there that you can change as combo box. first one is block finger print, and the second one is block cookies. change it to block Cross site only and try again. if this doesn't solve your issue, go to the aforementioned website, and click on report a broken website from the Brave menu and add there as much details as you can and send your report to developers. they may solve your issue with an upcoming update. regards. 29.07.2022 22:10 tarihinde Brian Vogel

Mert,
Thanks. Whatever setting it may be, this issue does occur when not a single thing has been touched after installation of Brave. I really like things as they work with the default settings, so I'll still be using an alternative web browser on those rare occasions where I have a specific website that doesn't play well with Brave. It is just so rare, but occurs in certain classes of websites for the most part, that even reporting it is something I've not been motivated to do (which is an exception to the general rule). -- Brian - Windows 10, 64-Bit, Version 21H2, Build 19044 Nothing in all the world is more dangerous than sincere ignorance and conscientious stupidity. ~ Martin Luther King, Jr. |
