goldwave update

Hi all.

Anyone noticed that goldwave is being flagged as a virus by defender or at least the installer is.

Couldn't update it without manually downloading then turning it off.

Of course go figure once loaded it runs without being flagged so not sure what is going on.

I have sent goldwave support a message maybe its cert is screwed.

I don't trust defender though because it missflags stuff all the time, but first time its done this to goldwave installer, thats usually good.

Did a scan to make sure and nothing so not sure what the deal is.

Hey Sean.

I hadn't bothered to do the update in a while, but after your message, I went to do it. Grabbed the installer from the website and ran it; Defender didn't make any noise here, running Windows 10 with the latest security updates. I do have smart screen filtering off, but that's a different thing and I don't know why it would flag gw.

Not sure, just allowed it through and reported my detection to goldwave support who got back, and I just sent me my detected report then allowed it so it will be in its allow list.

They confirm it is a false positive.

I just got the latest update so lets see.

I've not updated Gold for years ( guilty sheepish look) Indeed I still prefer the 32 bit one as you can have multiple instances.

Tell me if you have custom sound effects defined when you go to the 564 bit are they still honoured or do you have to start again?
