How to make accessible installation
Hello.
I would like to instal some VST3 plugins from Melda production suite, but installation isn't very accessible. So, how to write to developers to make this installation accessible? Thank You. hi friend, what do you think? if you will say this to the devs they will do it for you? they might, but every 4 out of 3 case, they don't do it at all so, for your installation, you should use nvda's ocr (nvda plus r) it may work |

Before you start writing to them, I'd get sighted help to install them and see if these effects themselves are accessible, as it would be a shame to find that they do not work anyway.

I think the problem often is that small companies do not understand how we use computers and even less about accessibility standards, and how to write code to make the correct details available to a screenreader. Since most of us users do not know the under the hood stuff like this either, the best you can hope for is to point out they are missing a market share if they don't fix it, but as always, the company is very unlikely to want the expense of rewriting the code. It would have been much better if they had done it in the first place. I also realise that in many cases the software is made portable from the operating system point of view, and thus to add windows specific APIs would mean porting from one OS to another is going to get complicated. Give it a try though, they can only say no or ignore you, Personally if a company does say no or ignores me,I'd tell all my friends that they have a bad attitude. Brian -- bglists@... Do these install from a stand alone file, or like many these days install a stub and bring in files over the web as needed. If its stand alone. see if the file can be opened by winzip or one of the other archive software. Sometimes you find its the unpacked which is inaccessible with a normal set up file inside.

I think the point is respect of others views, and at least the courtesy of a reply. It does leave a very bad taste when your money is as good as anyone else's. Obviously this is not a universally shared view of respect and courtesy toward all potential customers.

If I call customer service or email them, then I expect the courtesy of a reply. If I put in a suggestion through something like the Feedback Hub or any of a number of ways (GitHub springs to mind, but is hardly the only one) for a change in or addition to software, I do not. It's utterly unrealistic to expect "the courtesy of a reply" in situations where you know the receiving end is inundated and where, in the immediate term, there is going to be no change. For myself, I hate automated replies of the, "We got this and are looking into it," type more than I hate silence.
