speaking screen display
Howard Traxler
I'm trying to write software; in a couple programming languages. I can get output to the screen; however, it doesn't speak through either NVDA or JAWS. Using the simple print command (BASIC), I get what I want on the screen but I have to use a review command to read it. Does anyone know how to get the screen output to go directly to the screen reader? Or is it a function that must be triggered in the screen reader? It's my next puzzle.
Oh, by the way: I've been posting some of these questions on the program-l list; but though I am receiveing mail from that list, mine are not coming back to me. Thanks. Howard |

If you are using GMail, you won't see your messages. GMail doesn't send group messages back to you. The reason you do in Groups.io is because Groups.io is specifically designed to get around what Google does and have your messages sent. Your messages will usually reach the group even if you don't see them.

Thank you Mohamed, I didn't know about that addon. I have downloaded and installed it and and I dont' find any difference. Need more time, I think, to try it out.

What is this software? It sounds to me that its using some non standard layout or api that most screenreaders cannot get at.
