My name is Betsy Grenevitch and I just subscribed to this list. I may have been on it a long time ago but am not sure.

due to my dementia I have decided that I need to begin using bookmarks. could someone please tell me how to locate my bookmarks in Google chrome using NVDA? Please give me the step by step commands and I will write them down for the future in case I forget them.

thank you so very much.

I don't use Chrome much but using the search book marks feature is probably the fastest and easiest.  Do the following:
Open the bookmarks interface with control shift o.
You are in a search field.  Type what you are searching for.  You may want to use one or two words such as york times, for example, or more words, such as New York Times.  You can experiment and see what works better.
Tab until you get to the list, I think about two or three times. That is usually easier and faster than looking through the list of all book marks for something.

Betsy,

I'm not quite sure where to start on this one, but I'll start as simply as possible, and we can build from there.

To bookmark the page you are currently viewing, you hit CTRL + D.  Once you do this you will be presented with a small dialog that shows what the bookmark will be named as and where you are allowed to change that to whatever you may wish.  After you've tweaked anything you might wish to for the bookmark, navigate to the Done button and activate it.

To access the bookmarks you have already saved, hit ALT + F, B [Chrome Main Menu, Bookmarks].  At the top of the bookmarks menu are several actions you might wish to take like bookmarking the current page, bookmarking all open tabs, show bookmarks bar, bookmarks manager, and import bookmarks and settings.  In most cases, you'll just want to bypass these, which you can do in one of three ways:
1. First letter navigation through the list of bookmarks.
2. Down arrowing 6 times to arrive at your first bookmark in the bookmarks list.  Then down and/or up arrowing if you overshoot to the bookmark you're looking for.
3. Up arrowing once, which will put you at the last bookmark in your bookmark list. Then up and/or down arrowing if you overshoot to the bookmark you're looking for.

Your best bet is to just take 4 or 5 random webpages you frequently like to visit, using CTRL + D to bookmark each one, then play with navigating the Bookmarks list that you have created.

There are two novels that can change a bookish fourteen-year-old's life: The Lord of the Rings and Atlas Shrugged.  One is a childish fantasy that often engenders a lifelong obsession with its unbelievable heroes, leading to an emotionally stunted, socially crippled adulthood, unable to deal with the real world. The other, of course, involves orcs.
