Why not disable the touchscreen in Device Manager for the duration of
your use? You can turn touchscreens on or off with the flip of the
metaphorical switch. Whether they're on or off has no impact on the
actual display itself.

I have a touchscreen laptop I can check on if you need the exact entry
in Device Manager identified. It's been the same across brands, in my
experience. I seem to recall it being under HID devices.
