2023.1 rc1: continuous reading still broken in amazon kindle

Hi all,
I have updated to nvda 2023.1 rc1. I am running amazon kindle version 1.40.0
(65415). Continuous reading does not work. A line is read and then nvda
stops speaking.
Is there any chance this can be fixed?
