Re: Change NVDA key bindings

Hi.

This involves great use of the Input gestures dialog. Because you want
to remap the text review functions, it might be good that you use the
laptop keyboard layout, which has different keys assigned for these
purposes.

1. Go to the NVDA menu, Preferences, Input gestures dialog.
2. Arrow down to the text review tree view and press right arrow.
3. Using your up/down arrows to move between the keyboard script
functions and your right/left arrows to open/close the tree view
items, you can delete the keyboard shortcut assignments with Numpad in
them.

Let me know how it works out.

Hi,

I recently bought a Lenovo Ideapad 100 laptop that does not have individual
Home, End, PgUp and PgDown keys. Instead, these functions are on the Numpad
7, 1, 9 and 3 keys respectively. With NVDA off they can be used normally,
however when NVDA is on they lose their standard functionality as they
become numpad keys for review mode. Changing from desktop keyboard layout to
laptop layout does not seem to change anything, neither does Numlock on or
off, they still perform review commands.

Is there any way I can remove the binding from these 4 particular numpad
keys so that they work as regular Home, End etc, and remap other
keys/combinations for the 4 review commands?

Thanks,
Andreea
