That is really weird.


I think i read he used AVG on his computer and some times AVG would stop
nvda from been install onto his pc. I have had that and the way was either
turn off AVG while it was been installed then turning it back on after wards
or make a exception for it as it would see it as a virus. It only happened
once or twice. maybe food for thought for him to check out as well.

I was just having a quick read so were you able to install a copy of
nvda onto your pc and it was the installer version?


if there is a UAC screen that comes up when installing from the portable
onto the pc the portable version i do not think can see it.


I do not think it is spoken either. but when it does comes up the
shortcut key is i think the alt key + y


if you did get it installed then updated it or went to update it then
after downloading it and then it goes to install it the UAC screen might
come up if the case is use the ALT key + y and hopefully it will keep on
installing for you.


If you do do a complete uninstall of nvda even though it may be
uninstalled from add/remove programs or what ever windows calls it.


Also check under the C: drive program files x86 directory and make sure
there is no folder for nvda.


Also check under the %appdata% area and if there is a folder called nvda
delete it out.


Reboot the pc then reinstall nvda and hopefully you should be ready to go.

immediately after the NVDA startup sound, but no error message. I
looked for log files on the flashdrive and in my AppData folder, but
there are none. Does anyone know what is going on and/or how to fix
this? Any help is appreciated.
