Re: Start menu search box missing

I have had similar things just this morning.
Good thing I had a system restore.
I installed a lot of optional features then I deleted a lot of optionals because they didn't work.
I then decided to change my language to my country new zealand, it worked but sadly ended up not completed and then decided that it would just not work at all, ie search box only appeared from time to time to read with nvda at any rate and if I clicked things some settings never entered as if I had a bad keyboard oor something then the worst of it was that I tried optional features, I got a button that said typing, a list of features aand the history but no add button.
I am restoring back to 8 this morning which is when I started this thing.
If it works, I will make points before I try to fiddle round with anything I also tried to remove something that were not needed, and I assume those are critical system apps so I won't touch those either.
This aint my box, so if I do get it into a good state I may just leave it alone I do want to get a few fonts and languages set up on it though.

To all listers
My wife's laptop installed Windows 10, has lost the search box on start
menu. How to solve this.
When I use NVDA, and press the Start menu key, it just says: pin view,
and I can't type anything to search.
Any help would be appreciated.
