yes, but he talks about the hims braille display, i think it is all about the hims braille display with nvda, because he asks the question in the nvda list.
he don't talks about jaws.

It happens to me, too, when I use JAWS, but not with NVDA. I assume
your friend is using the Braille Edge with JAWS. If so do a soft
reset (it's the button on the left side in the back of the unit) and
then restart Jaws.
