This illustrates my point.  The phrase "stuck with Math Player" sounds as though it is a meaningful imposition to have it.  It takes up very little room and does nothing when not being used. 
As I said, the presumption that programs should reflexively and routinely be uninstalled is one that should be reexamined.

When I was having the problem, NVDA could not access Firefox or Internet
Explorer.  Fortunately, everything is now running fine once MathPlayer was
re-installed.

It looks Like I am stuck with MathPlayer.
