both 32 and 64 is needed to work unless you are using a purely 32 bit windows
I found the windows enable disable function for java access bridge is hit and miss.
Most of the times you have to manually edit the accessibility.properties file and uncomment out the line about loading the java access in addition to manually copping the j a b files to your windows system.

I think there is a problem with the access bridge in general. I use Open Office and the latest version of JAWS but when I use the spreadsheet it freezes. JAWS support had me install the latest Java and turn the access bridge on and it worked fine until I rebooted my Pc. so they say I need to contact the access team at Java.
