I have as well. It is even more noticeable when switching/closing between Edge and Mail, or during an error in NVDA that may be related to DOM access. NVDA appears to hang and then reset a while later.
When the speech stops, I just wait some 30 second for it to return to normal.

Running the latest Next build of NVDA on a Win 10 64 bit machine. With
this bulid of NVDA I have experienced for the first time with NVDA at least three losses of speech for what seems to be a random cause.
