On the one I have there is a tray icon which when can set things like on or off or allow external mouse and sensitivity and how to emulate buttons either by tapping the pad or using physical buttons.
Of course the dumb method is a piece of card over the damned thing!
it may be that if this icon is not there, then there may be a control panel item instead.
