NVDA Situational Unresponsiveness

Rob Hudson <rob_hudson_3182@...>

There is a behavior in NVDA that is rather bothersome.
During a task that requires a lot of processing, such as a large file copy, a batch file conversion, or some other process that uses a lot of CPU cycles, NVDA will stop reading the alt tab list after the first entry. Hitting alt-tab produces only silence. In addition, NVDA will not read new notifications, or toasts in windows 10 parlance. GEneral responsiveness is not impacted; only th ese two situations--the alt tab and the toasts.
I do not recall if this occurs in windows 7, but can test if necessary.
What is causing this and has a fix been proposed?
