Re: NVDA, Facebook and Outlook

Looking through the settings might or might not allow the user to make a reasonable guess about what the setting does.  It depends on part on the general level of knowledge the user has about how browse mode reformats web pages and can guess about what this setting might do.

We've been talking about technical support in another thread.  I'll say this about technical support or list help, for that matter.  It isn't a good use of anyone's time, list members, a technical support person, or the user's time, to have a problem or question come up caused completely by a bad default setting and for no other reason.  This is an example.

Also, if someone is evaluating NVDA, the person may be left with a less favorable impression than he/she otherwise would have had had the unnecessary problem not occurred.  A lot of people aren't on this list who use NVDA.  A lot of people will never know what is causing this sort of problem and they may, if they have a choice, continue to use what they used before that didn't cause this problem.

You can go to nvda settings and choose not to use screen layout and I
think that should solve the problem.

One question: did you spend ten minutes exploring nvda settings? I do
not think so by your question because one who knows nothing like me has
understood it just exploring...

Best and remember to explore the screen reader you are using.

P.S Do not take it as personal because I don't know you at all, it is
just a suggestion, humble  opinion. We want tech support, but we also
must be able to help ourselves by exploring things on our own.
