But you are still rebooting and losing any work you
haven't saved if you are working on something. When a screen-reader
freezes, it is important to know what to do that may allow you to continue
without rebooting. Perhaps this should be a topic for a session at the
next NVDA con. and perhaps it should be a subject for a tutorial and be
included in the new written guide.
It is important to know how to
try to run another screen-reader and how to use the task manager to shut down
NvDA if you can't restart it using the NVDA short cut command and then try
running it again.

is I have a similar problem but my log entries are different and my freezing occurs mainly in outlook 2016. Regardless, this is what I do to recover from it without sighted assistance. 1. Hit windows key +l or ctrl+alt+ddel. It depends on whichever key combination works. 2. I get to the login screen. 3. I can then tab to the shutdown button and power off or restart the computer.
