In theory my friend should have the latest version, I sent the

installer straight from the website. Although they did used to have an
older version of the program, like way, way out of date... so maybe
the problem's being caused from some left over data that wasn't
overwritten? First thing though I think will probably be to try the
reinstalling after clearing everything out.

Sorry for chiming in here. I've only just seen this, and wonder whether
your friend has the latest Kindle for Pc version.
I have an older version on my netbook, and tehe newest on this machine.
If I download my Kindle books on the netbook, I get a non-navigable
version, pretty much like the older format Amazon used to have.
If I re-download the same title on this machine, with the latest Kindle
version, I get a navigable version (hope the word "navigable" isn't made
This, of course, provided the title does have both versions available.
Usually, the newer format comes as a folder, while the older one comes
as three single files, which include the azw file.

Thanks, I'll get my friend to try doing that and see if it works.
As to the problem, it's pretty much that issue exactly. When I remoted
in, the best I can get is that the book opens fine, you can even read
perfectly fine using the review keys, but you can't just normally
navigate using browse mode or say all.
Thanks for your assistance.

If they can recreate the issue and then get a copy of the log to send us
that might help shed light on what is happening - they (or you) can
it to me at email@example.com and I'll have a look.
Just looking through our issues, if I search for Kindle:

I was wondering if someone could help troubleshoot an issue with the

Recently, my friend was having some issues with this thing, and
actually read any books normally. Long story short, I sent said friend
portable copy of my NVDA installation, which seemed to have fixed the
issue, and they were able to read books normally in browse mode.
However as of today, apparently the issue is back, and I have no ideas
what it could be, as I use the kindle reader too and I never had any
at all. Restarting NVDA or the kindle program haven't fixed the issue,
the current book in question has already been read successfully so we
know it is supported. The only large difference I can think of is my
using windows 7, and me being on 10.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
