Re: CD ripping software that works well with NVDA

If you don't mind what version of CDEX you get, use the portable version, which does not contain malware.

Could you please put your  install file in Dropbox and send us the link to download it? That would save us having to worry about unwanted stuff.

Thank you.

Huh. Very annoying.

I know it’s sometimes annoying advice, but have you tried reinstalling the programme?

I can certainly verify that my 1.85 works fine on Windows 10. I press f9 and it rips with no complaints. However, there’s that unfortunate bundled software you don’t want, which you’ll have to get around, if you want to install it. It can be done though. As stated in a previous message, I wasn’t aware of it at first and thought something had frozen. I ended up unintentionally saying “yes” to all that stuff, and in the end used malwarebytes to help get rid of it. Obviously, not a really desirable solution.

It seems to run, but if I try to rip anything, it just sits there like a dummy and does nothing at all.  It just won't work.  No error messages or anything to help figure out what's going on.

Hi.

I’m using Cdex 1.85. But I don’t really see any reason why an older version wouldn’t work. Hell, I’m using Nero Multimedia Suite from 2011 for instance and it works fine on my Windows 10 machine, though I had to do some tweaks. Maybe it would help if you described exactly what happens when you try to run the program?

Lucky you!  I had been using 1.70 of CDex on Win XP and then Win 7 but with Win 10, it just won't work.  I tried compatibility mode and told it the last version it worked in with was Win 7 but it still won't work here.  How did you hold your mouth to coax your machine to run this?  I'd sure like to know how to do it.

I'm using version 1.70 beta 2 (UNICODE BUILD) of CDex with Win10 and it works fine. It didn't come bundled with loads of stuff I didn't want.
