I got this issue after updating both NVDA and Android studio. 

How do I open an issue on github?  I cclicked the Open New Issue button but got asked to sign up instead.  Thanks and cheers!

Do you have the 32-bit JRE?  I would have expected, if anything, if you didn't have the right files, that it would be Android Studio itself that didn't read, moreso than causing problems after exiting, unless it is shutting down some other service it shouldn't be as it exits.

Have you always had this issue, or has it started after updating Android Studio and / or NVDA?

For the others who had the issue, can you clarify exactly what did / didn't happen?  Were you pressing NVDA+n to open the NVDA menu, then accessing the Preferences sub-menu with P or arrows and enter.  Or were you pressing say NVDA+control+g to go to the General preferences screen directly?

In either case, did it give an error message or beep or any other indication of what was wrong?

NVDA does have a restriction on only allowing one NVDA dialog to be open at a time, but it will give a message explaining this if you do try to open multiple dialogs.

Earlier I went into preferences and unchecked NVDA at log in screen and

unchecked  load automatically after bootup. The reason I did this is

that NVDA was taking longer than usual to completly load. After I

rebooted the machine and loaded NVDA manually, I couldn't get into

preferences to recheck these to check boxes. Any Ideas before I have to

uninstall and reinstall? thanks.
