Hi, Brian,

I updated to the latest version of the NVDA essentials add-on and that did
the trick. Now I'm not hearing "unknown".

Sounds like an unknown window is in the way that does. When in the unknown
bit what does an nvda/f1 log show?

Hi, everyone,

Whenever I exit a program like outlookor internet explorer, NVDA says
"unknown". I have to hit alt F-4 twice to get back to the desktop. Is
there
a setting I might need to change in NVDA? I haven't had this happen
before.
I'm using NVDA 2018.1.1.

Thanks for your help in advance.

Rosemarie
