Re: NVDA not saying much

What does it do in other software? I'm suspicious of the office program as there have been many versions of it and some are not very accessible at all.

What about web browsing, notepad or wrdpad. if the same is happening I suggest a look at the preferences menu and toggle a few things and see if it helps. Normally though, on a new installation sensible defaults occur. More details of the system etc, and portable or installed version might also be useful, along with the version of nvda in use. It speaks application names etc, and it echoed letters as I type in OpenOffice Writer, but it doesn’t speak letters, words or lines as I move around a small doc using cursor keys, up/down keys or Ctrl with cursor keys. Any tips where to look? Thanks, Vernon from: Vernon Webb vernonwebb51@... Education Consultant - Visual Impairment Ludlow, Shropshire
