Re: nvda and Edge

If the site functions without JAVA script, not allowing them to run would solve the problem.  But I don't know if the site works when scripts are disabled.

I find that for example any ad blocker now cripples the useful file hippo
update check utility. This is because it seems to be put on screen as if it
was an advert from another server. I've tried to allow it but that failed.
The only way to get this is to turn off your ad blocker in firefox it seems.
It never used to be this way, so either the ad blockers are too smart for
their own good or file hippo has  hobbled the feature if you do not allow
ads, but allowing ads on their platform slows it down and makes it very hard
to download what you want as apposed to try me come on  adverts.

Whatever is blocking things, the feature should be able to be turned off and
perhaps what it blocks, modified.

Thanks David for all the tips on Edge.

I use Firefox a lot; I don't seem to experience the issues many others
are reporting here. It's still very fast on my machine, but it's become
a lot more cumbersome, and tends to block too much stuff totally

I mostly use Chrome, and definitely Edge for pdf and epub files, because
it retains links, which Qread doesn't do.
