Note we are getting subject drift again, as somebody who hives off subjects he is not interested in as here, I was not reading this one due to its early potential to turn into a my screenreader is better than yours chain.

Thanks a ton for that.
This will be most helpful.

pressed twice quickly, opens the options menu.

• Control+Shift+6 Reads date of the message.
• Control+Shift+A Brings the focus to the list of attachments, if any.
(These scripts are also available in the list of messages if you activate
the preview pane.)
• In the bar of fast filtering:
• Press down Arrow to display more options, enter to check/unchek the
selected option.
• In messages list:
• If the preview pane is active, press NVDA+downArrow (desktop) or NVDA+A
(laptop) to read the message without leaving the list.
• Control+NVDA+1-9 moves between columns.
• NVDA+H Displays a dialog in which you can change the order of the
columns in the message list.
Keystrokes can be customized in Preferences of NVDA > Input gestures when
Firefox or Thunderbird are open.

Hi,
What add on is this?
I might be missing something but the last time I went on the NVDA add
ons page there was 0 about thunderbird.
This is the frustrating thing when add ons are released but for some odd
reason are not listed on the official page.
Unless this is a much more recent development (in the last month or so)?

Absolutely correct.
I was stuck using Eudora Pro 7.1 forever, for it seemed to work best
with JAWS.
Then I discovered NVDA and the Thunderbird email client. It's a great
marriage, especially when you install the add-on that incorporates
special keyboard shortcuts for reading the preview email pain.
It's like having Eudora Pro on steroids. This alone has made me a
believer of NVDA.

Hi Group,
Since many people like a pop3/IMAP local mail client and since many of
same really miss Outlook Express, many use Thunderbird. I can say
categorically that for whatever reason, NVDA runs rings around JAWS in
Thunderbird. This is my personal experience as to why I use
exclusively NVDA and almost never use JAWS any more.

Hi,
I removed Jaws completely from my PC and have been using nvda only
since last october... I do exactly the same things as Jaws: web
navigation, checking emails, using text programs et.
I can say in same occations nvda is even better than Jaws... so no
need for it now.
Honestly, I may say those who speak bad of nvda is only because they
do not know it enough.

Dear friends, the matter of fact is that I’m using JAWS as my
primary screen reader since I have started using computer for the
first time in year 2010.
The latest tutorial of NVDA by Joseph Lee made me interested in
using NVDA.
So I have downloaded and installed it and since then I have been
using it as my secondary screen reader!
I’m very happy to let you know that NVDA is well ahead of JAWS
specially in the area of accessibility!
Friends, I’d like to request you to please comment about my
observation if it is right?
Please let me know the pros and cons of my observation!
