yes its sort of like using a debit card. but your pin is tied to your specific device and is not stored on a server in the cloud. the pin uses the trusted platform module security chip found in most all computers. according to microsoft, using a pin is much more secure than a password. your pin is like a macro or shortcut that signs you in automatically. the pin takes care of the whole sign in process.
