That is a little odd. It may be a tooltip balloon or what we used to call toast, and you can turn off how these work in on of the nvda pref settings. I've noticed Dropbox has started to do this sort of thing as well. I could be doing a say all in a large text file and all of a sudden it will intersperse. I really do not want to hear this sort of thing if I'm not even in the folder unless I want to, but since the prefs in dropbox and that pesky new alert screen seem not to work with nvda, it is rather irritating that these messages do where a you can see the folder or not!
I suspect they are coming from a tray icon. On the other hand it might just be an undocumented feature, as software writers like to term such things.
