regaining the Pound Sterling Sign

Brian K. Lingard

Dear Brian & List>
I run JAWS 20018 and Win 10.
Windows key plus space bar cycles through the available keyboards, as does
Alt plus shift.
You can also go into the settings menu and select language & region.

Microsoft loves giving you multiple ways of doing the same thing.

Yes I know that, but that is not the issue here at all, In the UK hash was
always number, but I have long since fixed that on. the point is that the
machine has switched its keyboard to us English. Can somebody explain to?
me how to use windows space to fix it the? Has this always been there? I have
never encountered it in many years, sounds very dangerous if true. I do
know some screenreader can change language using certain easy to hit
keys, as \I'm always rescuing Dolphin users from all sorts of bizarre languages
and synths!

? The problem is that NVDA have changed how the symbol is named...

/The # sign is now read as Number... /To change that, it is necessary go
to NVDA menu, Preferences, Punctuation/symbol pronunciation... and
it there...

I would not know how this could be changed accidentally. Would she be likely?

have system restore on and be able to go back to a couple of days ago, or

it off in 10 by default. Even then, I'm not sure it has any effect on the

installed keyboard language. I have had issues in the past with word

deciding to use American English templates for documents for no good

which really fouls up the spell checker big time!
