Re: Windows 10 Settings applet no longer accessible with NVDA

This is a strange situation. I have no problems here with Settings with NVDA, Narrator, and Jaws2018. I am using 64 bit Windows 10 18.03 Latest stable version of NVDA and Narrator. I updated Win 10 App Essentials today. There therefore appears to be something on Steve’s machine and others which is triggering this problem. I have sympathy as there are other aspects of my Win 10 setup which do not work as they should. I cannot for example ever get goldwqave to load properly.

Hi Jim,
Are you on Windows 10 Version 1803?
All the best

Hello Steve and all,
Sorry, my mistake, it lands me in a search box so of course it doesn't speak at that point, pressing tab takes me to the menus etc, it even works with NVDA, stranger and stranger.
Best Regards, Jim. -----Original Message----- From: Steve Nutt Sent: Friday, August 03, 2018 9:25 AM To: nvda@nvda.groups.io Subject: Re: [nvda] Windows 10 Settings applet no longer accessible with NVDA
Even more confusing. JAWS works fine for me, I'm on JAWS 2018.
What version of JAWS are you on? If 2018, you should update to the July build, then I suspect it will work.
All the best
Steve

Just to add to this, Jaws doesn't work for me either, NVDA says blank, Jaws says nothing at all.

Are these settings opened by hitting windows key I? if so, I'm having no issues.
