Re: a situation with NVDA 2018.4 and windows 7

Hi,

Unfortunately, it didn’t come here. Could you mind writing to me directly and attaching the log file in the process? Thanks.

Cheers,

Joseph

Hello,

That’s new to me. Can you pass the following message to your client:

Hi,

I’m Joseph, one of the volunteer developers of NVDA. I heard that you’re seeing an odd command line window when NVDA starts.

May I get a debug log from your computer please? To do so, press NVDA+Q, then from Exit NVDA dialog, select the last option (restart with debug logging enabled). Then once NVDA restarts, please move system focus to the command line window and press NVDA+F1 to present the log viewer. Then copy everything from log viewer window and paste it as a private email to me so I can diagnose this.

Thanks.

Cheers,

Joseph

Greetings everyone and happy 2019.

I’ve recently installed NVDA 2018.4 on a Windows 7 laptop for a client.

It seems when I launch NVDA after this update, it seems to bring up the command prompt for Windows 7 as well.

I’ve changed the shortcut to a different key combination thinking that might fix the problem but no good.

Has anyone else had this same issue and if so what was the trick?
