Re: Tutorial on using the Gmail Web View with NVDA

I don't know what you do in general and I'm using your description as a general example, not a comment on your general practices.  But as written, the description of how to work with the page is another example of blind people working inefficiently with a web site.  The download control is a button and that is announced when you find it.

You can use your screen-reader's search if you are on the page and it is unfamiliar to you because you don't know what you are looking for.  Search for the word download and repeat the search to see what you find.  The point is that on a site like this, what is the most logical thing to search for when you don't know?  The word Download.  You are on a download page.
You will hear that this is also a button.  In future, on a send space download page, start at the top of the page and use the command b to move to the next button.  You will move immediately to it.

You can see my discussions of effective web page navigation by downloading this excerpt from my Internet tutorial
It doesn't deal with things like landmarks in part because it is old and came out before such things.  It also doesn't discuss NVDA because there was no NVDA.  But knowing a few commands such as NVDA search, control nvda key f when using the desktop layout will allow you to work with the tutorial.  Repeat search is control NVDA key f3.  Most NVDA quick web page navigation commands are the same as JAWS.  Try them and ask here if something doesn't work.  B for button, h for heading, and many others are the same.

It is also my strong belief that you learn how to work with web pages without all the new fangled aids, which may or may not be there, depending on the design of the page, and you learn the new fangled things later.  You cannot be a good Internet user if you rely on the kindness of strangers to make such things available.

I may revise these excerpts and release them for use with NVDA.  Far too many blind people receve poor or very little Internet instruction.

Hi,
When you enter on his link, arrow down the page until you hear Down load
ctrl + l and press enter. The download dialog will come up. It is an MP3
file, Send Space is just the sharing service, like Drop Box. Have a great
one.

Sendspace isn't a format. It's a site for sharing files.
