thanks for digging this older version of NVDA up. I looked around for over an hour and only found the latest version. Guess I didn't know where to look. I did try to install this version but, with the exact same results. But, it did seem, at least to me, to be the next logical step.
A lot has happened in the past hour concerning my Twilight Zone Dell laptop.
I just got off the phone with the MS Disability Desk. The tech support lady created a test user profile and tried to install the latest NVDA. It definitely would have installed but we cancelled the install because we wanted a more permanent fix. She is guessing that I have corruption in my user profile. I mentioned that I did run DISM and two other Windows checking programs. And that all reported zero problems. She said that the programs that check for errors are not perfect.
She started the download of a Win10 ISO so we can run a Windows repair .
I will call MS back in 2 hours so someone can run that repair. I am assuming this will get me out of the Twilight Zone at least until the next episode.
I want NVDA.
