                Thank you to the below mentioned gentleman; that worked, although I did not assign the tab key on purpose, but your solution worked.

I assume you assigned your tab key to ducking mode.

So go to desktop mode, NVDA menu, Preferences, Input gestures..., search

for ducking, find the key, expand it, remove tab.
