The Group by setting can be reached in file explorer via ALT+V,G  [View Ribbon, Group By Item], then arrowing down through the current list until you get to the None entry and select it.   It couldn't be more simple.

Most of us will want some sort order, though, and generally by Name.  So afterward you may want to do an ALT+V,O and check to see what is currently being used as the sort column, which remains date, even if not used for grouping, unless you change it.
