I have tried this. However, when I press shift down arrow after passing the key through, all I get is a "no selection" announcement when I try to copy to the clipboard.
You have to pass the control+c through as well.
You will probably get no audio feedback, but the report text on clipboard command (NVDA+C) should confirm that it's there.
