Not the OP, but I tried this this morning before responding to them, and this does nothing - or didn't for me.

I went into the edit menu and I wanted to enter some accented characters into a text file so I brought up the character panel, found the character I wanted and pressing enter puts that character into the file. But now when I run notepad++ the character panel keeps coming up and I can’t find a way to close it. So how do I close the character panel? I’m using the latest NVDA with CodeFactory eloquence and vocalizer addon.
