For me, the additional Onedrive space is very attractive as my wife and I use it to access files on our respective devices.

I may be wrong about this but you may not always receive accessibility fixes with the 2016 release. As an example, in Outlook are you able to edit an existing email signature using a screen reader?

You are correct but what you won't receive are new features, which are not usually added to perpetual licenses of Office such as Office 2016.

Yes, you wont get 2019 or 365 automatically, you will stay with 2016. With a 365 subscription you always get the newest release of Office.
