Re: issues with quick nav of thunderbird and NVDA

What is odd is that this addon began working a bit more consistently when my installation of Thunderbird updated to V78.2.1. In fact, it was working so consistently that I thought that the issue was completely resolved, even though the release notes provided no obvious references to this type of problem. However, at some point the addon failed to work again. After going into Addon Options and looking at the addon's options it suddenly started working again even though I made no changes to any of the settings. I am at a loss to explain this and, as I wrote in a previous message in this thread, the developer of this addon cannot reproduce this issue.

No, I forgot that is a TB add-on. Thanks, you saved my sanity!

Did you search for it under add-on manager in Thunderbird?  It isn't an NVDA add-on.

Where do I find this add-on? I tried the add-on page but couldn't find it.

This interests me because I also notice similar behavior with version 3.0 of this addon. The addon appears to work as expected until I restart TB. Upon restarting TB the addon is still enabled but the addon itself acts as if it has been disabled. First letter navigation does not move to the relevant folder and the addon's option does not appear in the context menu. If I go into addon settings and disable the addon and then enable it the addon works properly once again until I close and restart TB. I wrote to the addon author who was unable to reproduce the issue. I then asked about it on the Thunderbird support list and was given a suggestion which didn't work for me. I have reinstalled TB as well as removed and then reinstalled the addon.

Yeah, but with the newest version there are still issues.  I have to go in and disable and then

re-enable the extension every time I bring up Thunderbird.

I wish someone could do something about it because it is getting irritating. ;)

Bob,

I would uninstall and reinstall Quick Folder Navigation if the version you have went in a long while ago.  There have been some recent updates related to compatibility with the more recent versions of Thunderbird.
