Well, to fire up narrator, you hit a keystroke, which dismisses the lock screen.

There is a way to turn it off: Type windows+r and then gpedit.msc You'll end up in a tree view Find administrative templates and hit right arrow Find control panel and hit right arrow Find personalization and hit tab Activate the option that says Do not display the lock screen Once you have that off, your login prompt should show up normally. ----- Original Message -----
