Re: Temporarily disabling AVG protection Correction

Numpad star is a right click. Are you saying
that a right click should be used on the icon? I want people to clearly
understand the reason for your command choice. It may matter in future
when they want to use the mouse to right click something else in the system tray
or elsewhere.

Correction Gene is quite right The first keypress should be NVDA+Numpad / however the second keypress should not be Numpad / but Numpad * to invoke the Context menu. Apologies for the incorrect post.
The corrected steps are:
2Press enter on the Notifications chevron button. 3 Use arrow keys to scroll the overflow notifications list until you locate the AVG anti-virus button. 4 Press NVDA+numpad / to move mouse focus to the AVG button 5 Press Numpad * to activate the AVG context menu (Note: i can’t get the Applications key to invoke the AVG context menu, hence the 2 step process) 6. ‘Temporarily disable AVG protection’ appears in the Context menu list.
When you activate the disable option, a dialog appears with various warnings about removeing protection and instructions about re-enabling it. You can also set a timer to automatically re-enable protection after a certain time has elapsed.

All references to numpad 8 should be changed to numpad slash. So to move mouse focus to the button, the command is numpad insert numpad slash. To left click the mouse, the command is numpad slash

To do the above, follow these steps:
2Press enter on the Notifications chevron button. 3 Use arrow keys to scroll the overflow notifications list until you locate the AVG anti-virus button. 4 Press NVDA+numpad 8 to move mouse focus to the AVG button 5 Press Numpad 8 to activate the AVG context menu (Note: i can’t get the Applications key to invoke the AVG context menu, hence the 2 step process) 6. ‘Temporarily disable AVG protection’ appears in the Context menu list.
When you activate the disable option, a dialog appears with various warnings about removeing protection and instructions about re-enabling it. You can also set a timer to automatically re-enable protection after a certain time has elapsed.
