Locked Re: Updated Firefox to version 89, can no longer use w/NVDA
Gene
He is, but that doesn’t answer the questions I posed. I don’t know
what his work is nor if there are anywhere near enough screen-reader beta or
alfa testers.
I said in my first message on the subject that the problem should have been
discovered long before release. That may not be the case. I don’t
know how many people will be affected and I doubt anyone knows now. Even
so, the incident raises these questions. There was an incident perhaps six
or eight months ago where the status line in Thunderbird was misconfigured so
speech was forced and a great deal of intrusive information was reported.
This wasn’t a problem that may only have affected a small percent of
users. It affected all NVDA Thunderbird users. It may not have
affected other screen-reader users, I don’t know but again, why wasn’t the
problem known or corrected until after the production release?
