Re: Does NVDA speak Arabic?

Hi,
All these voices are quite bad, Microsoft's voice does not support auto-switching. Moreover, for whatever reason you can't read letter by letter with Microsoft's voice.
In general, 2 best options - probably the only 2 options - are Acapella's and Vocalizer's voices.
good luck.

I don’t speak Arabic, I’ve learned a handful of words from watching vids, but if I want to look at Arabic text, i.e. videos on Youtube or song titles, I prefer Persian. Espeak’s Arabic sounds awful and incomprehensible. Some of ESpeak’s languages aren’t too bad, but IMHO it’s Arabic is atrocious, and Hawaiian was a big distorted disappointment.

E-Speak supports Arabic, but I’m not sure to what extent.  Wikipedia says, “Currently, only fully diacritized Arabic is supported.”

Since I don’t know how Arabic is written, I don’t know what sort of limitation that imposes.

A lot of people don’t like E-Speak but it is something you may want to try.
